Hollywood chicken hypnotist

Jane's pony Aslan Equinox

Jane was born in Los Angeles, CA where her parents entertained Richard and Pat Nixon at parties in their hilltop mansion, a landmark her inventor father barely saved from demolition. Her mom wrote melodramas at the Birdcage Theatre at Knott's Berry Farm, where Steve Martin used to work. Her father invented the audiometer, got tired of LA, and moved everyone to Hilo, Hawaii.

Jane's earliest memories are of horses -- on Catalina Island and tied to parking meters in downtown Hilo. She grew up speaking pidgin, survived public schools, moved to Japan, then chose Michigan State University out of a catalog because standard English was spoken there.

She produced student TV, joined the honors college and graduated with high honors. Jane met Bob, learned how to drive stick shift in Bob's '49 Ford flathead flatbed truck, made a PBS series, married Bob and worked briefly in automotive media. A little Detroit was enough.

Back in LA, Jane learned 23 different online edit systems, founded Women In Television, produced some features, joined the Writers Guild, was an instructor for AVID and finally got her own horses. She's won national prizes for music videos she produced and is a longtime Producers Guild and IATSE member.

Jane's a good hand on the lines, she drove a horse drawn carriage for hire in Old Pasadena's downtown. Her DVD about raising chickens is an all time best seller.

A good artist, she is writing and illustrating a cookbook based on her adventures in farming. Jane plays rhythm guitar and button accordion along with her husband and their pal luthier Bill Webster.
